As we enter the holiday season and reflect on 2021, we can’t help but be thankful for the support our Club received this year. Even with the uncertainties of where the health crisis would be, YOU stepped up to the plate and continued to support the youth and communities we serve.

Last year, our Club evolved to meet the growing needs of our community, and we did whatever it took to ensure those we serve have the support systems they needed to thrive.

As our shared community navigates through the “recovery phase” of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Club continues to ensure our members have equitable access to resources and opportunities. Looking into the year ahead, we remain committed, disciplined, and focused around our mission, focusing on 3 priority areas:

  • Expanding academic intervention services to address the learning loss of 2020
  • Expanding emergency safety-net resources such as meals and technology to support families most impacted by the pandemic
  • Expanding mental health services to ensure more youth have access to these critical services during the recovery

Of the more than 9,000 youth we serve, 87% are considered low income and will likely experience greater educational inequalities as a result of this pandemic than their peers from higher income families; and 100% of whom, regardless of their background or zip code, deserve access to mentors and champions in life.

But our work is far from done. As 2021 comes to an end, we are determined to do whatever it takes to provide the necessary resources every child needs to continue learning, exploring, discovering, and pursuing greatness. Please consider doing whatever you can to support our kids’ futures by making a gift of greatness to support this commitment.

Our kids need the Club, and we need you. The year-end giving season has arrived, Giving Tuesday is November 30, and all gifts are tax-deductible. If you’re unable to make a gift, please share this post with your friends and loved ones who are looking to support local children and families this holiday season. On social media, please share using the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #bgccentraloc.

On behalf of our entire Club family, we wish you and yours safe, healthy, and happy holidays.
