As part of our commitment to ensure every child within our reach has access to mentors and champions and to meet the growing need for after school care, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central orange Coast has partnered with local school districts and established a school-based program initiative to provide on-campus services for students across central OC. In 2017, our Club launched its formal partnership with Orange Unified School District to provide after-school services to more than 270 students annually in kindergarten through 6th grade.

This partnership with OUSD as part of its After School Safety and Education (ASES) program allows our Mentor Professionals to deliver safe, quality programs by providing daily structured academic reinforcement and homework help, physical fitness and social recreation, and enrichment offerings in the areas of STEM, art, and mental wellness in our three partner school sites – Sycamore Elementary, Taft Elementary, and West Orange Elementary

This 2022-2023 school year, we are excited to expand our impact with OUSD and provide more services to our elementary partner school sites. Through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP), we will be doubling our footprint, serving more than 150 students at each school site. Additionally, our Club will also be offering up to 30 additional days of service outside of the school year, so more students can have access to mentorship during school breaks.

In addition to our elementary school sites, we also offer services to high school students at El Modena High School and Orange High School through our College Bound program. A college & career readiness program that ensures teens graduate high school on time with a customized plan for their future.

“Partnerships like Orange Unified School District are critical to our mission to ensure every child has the opportunity to pursue greatness. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve kids in the Orange community and honored to work alongside our administrators, principals, and teachers, to provide mentorship to those who need us most,” said Kristle Duran, COO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast.
