Since 1941, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast has provided a positive, healthy learning environment for thousands of children and teens. With every passing year, we have built on our ability and capacity to help as many as possible pursue their greatness. Now more than ever, we are excited for the future. Thanks to generous support from our community, our Pursuing Greatness Campaign has been an amazing success. Thanks to your investment, we are redeveloping our Club locations to serve more youth and equip them for 21st century success.
Each of our 4 Clubs is receiving varying degrees of renovation:
As our oldest location, Costa Mesa has been completely gutted and reassembled, more than doubling the amount of usable space. We have torn down old walls, built new walls, and repainted the entire facility. We have modernized our gym with the addition of new hoops, rafters, floor, and a fresh paint job. We’ve added three new learning labs to expand our STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) education as well as an art wall to foster creativity.
At our Newport Beach location, we built two additional learning labs, refurbished our gym, added an art wall, as well as updated and improved our use of space, technology, and infrastructure. Our Irvine location received updated technology, flexible spaces, and a brand new, larger, better equipped teen center. Finally, as our Santa Ana location was renovated several years ago, we made some upgrades to refresh the space, improve lighting, and replace carpeting.
With these renovations, we are not only improving what we offer the youth we serve today, but also investing in children who have not been born yet. We are increasing our capacity to serve more youth and expanding the ways we help them. There are more than 200,000 youth under the age of 18 within our reach, and we have been called to do everything we can to help as many as possible.
