At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast, we believe volunteers are the heart and soul of every community, and it is this spirit of giving that inspires action. We also believe that when we partner with like-minded organizations and individuals, our collective impact enables us to do much more for the kids and families we serve and can affect greater change and outcomes in their lives.
During the holiday season each year, our Clubs host several events to provide support for children and families from our local communities. For example, our annual Thanksgiving at the Club event is an opportunity for local families to enjoy a full service, family style Thanksgiving dinner. We serve platefuls of fresh, hot turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and all the fixin’s to more than 700 individuals. This is only possible with the help of an army of volunteers!
We are incredibly thankful to all our amazing corporate and community partners who help make the Thanksgiving at the Club event a huge success for everyone involved. This year, our nearly 200 volunteers included some truly special employees from Irvine Company, PIMCO, Opus Bank, KPMG, Pacific Life, Disney, Voit Real Estate, Blizzard Entertainment, PDL Promo, Meguiar’s, JLK Rosenberger, San Diego County Credit Union, BKM Capital Partners, Circle K, Fluor, and AAA, as well as many individual supporters. Every one of these volunteers, regardless of his or her role during the event, helped make this Thanksgiving one to remember for our community.
